Tracking the Sun: An Historical Summary of the Installed Cost of Photovoltaics in the US from 1999 to 2010
Recorded on October 14, 2011 (60 minutes)
The cost of photovoltaics has been cited as a primary barrier to
widespread solar adoption for some time. Fortunately, those costs have
dropped significantly in recent years, making solar more widely
accessible to consumers and more cost-competitive as a wholesale
resource across the country. The latest edition of the annual "Tracking
the Sun" report from the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory illuminates PV's changing cost dynamics, tracking
national trends in installed costs as well as differences by region,
system size and installation type. Join report co-author Galen Barbose
