Vehicle electrification has been a major goal of the Obama administration, as it reduces America's reliance on foreign oil imports, improves urban air quality and eliminates a significant source of carbon pollution. Today, America is the world's largest EV market and strong growth in the U.S. EV sector will have important implications for the International Parking Institute (IPI) and its members in the decades to come. Levi Tillemann, Ph.D., MA
Special Advisor for Policy and International Affairs, US Department of Energy
Dr. Tillemann is special advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis and one of the Department's experts on electric vehicles and transportation policy. Before joining DOE, he was co-founder and CEO of IRIS Engines, Inc., he holds numerous patents, and his writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Popular Science and the World Energy Vision Update for Davos 2013. He earned a BA from Yale, an MA and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins SAIS and is fluent or conversant in Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese.
