Animal research conducted anywhere in the world is subject to intense public scrutiny. The reputations of companies and even countries are at stake. Public trust in the people and the process has been seriously weakened by sustained, well-organized attacks focused on stopping all use of animals in research, testing and education. It is therefore in the interest of advancing good science as well as addressing public misperceptions of biomedical research and its rapid expansion in China that a variety of stakeholders collaborate to manage issues affecting the growth and success of global animal research.
