This session presents current methods for integrating BIM and specifications and discusses the specifier's need for data. Representatives of CSI, SCIP and the US Army Corps of Engineers have created an extensive Specifiers Property Information Exchange (SPIE) open-source database which will can be implemented in current BIM software and modeling programs. Representing the contents of 300 Masterformat specification sections, a copy of the 10,000 line database will be made available to participants.
