This webinar will offer concrete examples of how technology is being used to add value to continuing education medical education and how results are being measured. Participants will walk away with ideas for their own programs as well practical insights into making learning technology investment decisions.

Measurement is fundamental to any improvement work. In order to document and improve the quality of medical care, we must embrace clinical performance measurement. Given this reality, our CME offerings in the future must address not only gaps in knowledge but also gaps in understanding the importance of systems in achieving the optimal patient outcomes. This webinar will outline the current status of performance measurement including how measures are developed, endorsed and implemented.

The goal of this presentation is to identify the key components of a well-developed guideline that is methodologically sound, based on good evidence, free from any potential conflicts and biases, and this making it a trustworthy guideline. This presentation will include the standards for a trustworthy guideline proposed by IOM in April 2011 as well as how ACP is implementing these standards to develop its guidelines.
