The Avila Institute of Gerontology, a not for profit organization, incorporated in 1988, was established to enhance the ministry of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. The mission of the Avila Institute is to provide high quality, affordable educational programs related to the care of the elderly. The Avila Institute strives to present the most recent information to enhance the field of Gerontology through high quality education programs, seminars, workshops, publications, and studies. Information on philosophy, values, and innovations in the care of elders is offered to healthcare professionals.

The workshops presented by the Avila Institute address the most current issues facing geriatric healthcare providers. Regional seminars throughout the United States and Ireland bring qualified speakers who are experts in their field to present interesting and innovative studies in the geriatric field. Regulatory requirements, ethics, management skills, and resident care are among the relevant issues presented.

Credit programs are offered to administrators, nurses, dietitians, recreational therapists, and social workers.

Attendance verification for the webinar and the transcript/certificate of attendance is generated online through the webinar.

Each registrant seeking a transcript/certificate of attendance (either general attendance or contact hours) needs to have access to a computer with their own webinar login. Personal information provided at the time of registration (name and address) will appear on the transcript/certificate.
 
Each registrant will have to complete the following to be eligible for a transcript/certificate:

  • Enter the attendance verification codes
  • Complete an evaluation
  • Enter personal licensing information

Registrants must have access to a printer so transcripts can be printed at the close of the webinar; they will not be mailed or emailed.
