As a nurse, most of the time you are so busy caring for others that you often donít have the time or the energy to take care of yourself. Given the emotional stress and strains inherent in your profession, it is important that you make your well-being a priority.  The practice of self-care is vital to maintaining your well-being and enabling you to effectively continue your day-to-day practice of healing and caring for others. Self-care includes engaging in meaningful and nontoxic connections with others who support you, listening to your body when you feel something awry and knowing when you are headed to exhaustion.
