Objectives:
Explain trends in unintentional overdoses and deaths attributable to prescription opioids
Describe demographic and other risk factors associated with an increased risk in unintentional
overdoses from opioids
Review general public policy and clinical practice strategies recommended to promote
responsible opioid prescribing
This webinar features speakers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They will provide an overview of the epidemiology of prescription drug overdoses and deaths, summarize potential markers for risk of opioid analgesic overdoses and an overview of CDC's pubic health response.
