Urine Drug Testing in Chronic Pain: A Patient Centered Approach

This webinar will provide an overview of the benefits and limitations of urine drug testing in patients with chronic pain.  It is intended to provide clinicians with knowledge that will facilitate incorporation of urine drug testing into their practice, with an emphasis on its use as a safety and monitoring tool.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe clinical guidelines on appropriate use of urine drug testing (UDT) in the management of patient with chronic pain.
  • Differentiate between the use of UDT for monitoring adherence to therapy and for detection of aberrant drug-related behaviors.
  • Formulate practice strategies for appropriate testing, accurate interpretation, and enhanced clinical utility of UDT results.
