FAQs
What is OnDemand? OnDemand programs are recordings of previously presented in-person conferences or audio/web seminars. These recordings are available in two formats: CD-ROM and online.
What is the Online OnDemand format? The online OnDemand format is a recording that you can view on your computer. The online OnDemand format is available 48-72 hours after the live seminar, and can be listened to/viewed on your computer immediately after ordering. After purchasing the online OnDemand format, CommPartners will send you a link that you can open directly from your computer. Just click on the link and listen!
What is the OnDemand CD-ROM Format? The CD format includes one audio disk for your car or CD player or one disc for your computer for Web seminars so you may watch the event as it occurred. The CD-ROM version is shipped and takes approximately 3 weeks for delivery.
When does an OnDemand program become available after it is recorded? The online OnDemand format is available within 48-72 hours after the completion of the live seminar and is emailed at that time. The CD-ROM version is shipped and takes approximately 3 weeks for delivery.
What is an audio seminar? An audio seminar is a teleconference. Participants dial in over the phone to hear the speakers' presentation and have the opportunity to ask a question live over the phone. An example of a seminar is "Making the Right MOVE: Using Motions to Win Your Case," held on April 21, 2011.
What is a web seminar? A web seminar is an audio seminar with a web portion. Participants dial in over the phone to hear the audio presentation and to have the ability to ask a question, and also log on to a website to view the PowerPoint presentation. An example of a web seminar is "Marriage-Based Adjustments-A How To Guide," held on April 12, 2011.
What is a webcast? A webcast is a streaming version of AILA's in-person conferences. You are able to connect via the Internet and watch the in-person conference live. Viewing consists of live video, the PowerPoint presentation (if the conference includes it), and a chat box. You will have the ability to ask a question using the chat box. An example is the webcast of the 2011 Spring CLE Conference.
How can I get proof of my participation? AILA provides self-study certificates (available at the AILA CLE Center) for those participants in jurisdictions where this format is considered self-study. Participants in states where OnDemand is considered participatory should complete the OnDemand CLE Request Form and submit it to AILA for a certificate. Please see your jurisdiction's CLE Information Sheet for more information on your reporting requirements.
Can I receive CLE credit for an OnDemand program? Most jurisdictions will grant credit for OnDemand versions of live events. Please note that some states do not allow CD-ROMs as a method for earning CLE credit. Please visit AILA's CLE Center for your jurisdiction for more information.
I have listened to an OnDemand event and I heard several codes. What are these? These codes are for attendance verification purposes. Please make note of these codes on the attendance verification form to be submitted to AILA for CLE credit.
If I want CLE credit for an OnDemand program, is there a deadline for listening to it? Many jurisdictions have time restrictions to ensure the most up-to-date educational information. Please check your jurisdiction's CLE Information Sheet available on AILA's CLE Center for more information.
Can I preorder an OnDemand program? CDs of upcoming seminars can be pre-ordered now, and will be shipped within two to three weeks of the live seminar or order date.
